Eid At Purley Masjid

As-Salamu Alaiykum 

Tuesday 9th April

Tomorrow, Shaykh Suliman Gani will be at Riddlesdown Common just before Maghrib Salah setting up his telescope to sight the moon.  

We are following the Sunnah where we are encouraged to look for the moon after Maghrib of the 29th fast and then complete 30 fasts if it is not visible (see previous communication for Hadith reference)

This is a family event so please come down with your Iftar and a picnic blanket to join in (see previous communication for details)

Within 2 hours after Maghrib Salah we will send out a WhatsApp message confirming the date of Eid

There is an extremely high probability Eid will be on Wednesday

Wednesday 10th April 2024

(date tbc on Tuesday)

Eid Salah will be at Purley Masjid, 130 Brighton Road, not at the park due to adverse weather conditions

There will be four Jamā'ah - 7.30am,8.30am,9.15am and 10.00am
